Irish Medicines Supply CrisisWith the current supply crisis of medicines in Ireland why not try a product made in Ireland? Pharmacies are running out of cough syrups and throat sprays. Over 15% of medicines have now become unavailable with cough syrups and throat sprays are widely low in quantity or impossible to find. Our Mindful Beauty CHESTY STUFFY is made with three essential oils known to help with coughs and colds eucalyptus, tea tree oil and lemon. Cough Essential OilsEucalyptus oil can reduce cough symtoms and get t he mucous out of the lungs. When I has a chest infection from Omnicron last year I was very happy with this blend I formulated. The CHESTY STUFFY blend of aromatherapy essential oils brought the mucous to the surface clearing my chest. Inhaling vapor made with the essential oil can loosen mucus so that when you do cough, it's expelled. After putting the oil on your chest you can stick your nose under the neck of your t shirt and it will be soothing vapours to inhale. Using a rub containing eucalyptus oil will produce the same effect. Our CHESTY STUFF massage oil. This essential oil of EUCALYPTUS has wide-ranging health benefits, including decongestant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiseptic, antifungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. In fact, a study from 2004 showed that patients who had non-bacterial sinusitis recovered faster when they took eucalyptus oil with their medication. Sore Throat AromatherapyTea Tree oil is the only essential oil that is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. This can work with your immune system as a boost against any infection such as a cold or flu and sore throat. Tea tree is known to loosen chest congestion. Many throat medicines, including sore throat lozenges, are flavored with lemon. This is why I added lemon to the blend. A 2017 study Trusted Source found that lemon essential oils have antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, which may help treat a sore throat and prevent infection. Meantime also stay warm and if you feel any chest pain or lung pain head straight to your GP. This product is not for asthmatics as it contains menthol. Available nationally from all good pharamcies and healthstores.

Young Galway egg farmer Brian Dilleen has just cracked the market in the USA with a new reality dating show produced by Bravo TV called Love Without Borders. Brian Dilleen of Mad Yolk Farm was chosen from thousands of applicants to take part in the show called Love Without Borders. Basically five Americans close up shop and are sent in search of love to different parts of the world. Brian from Mad Yolk Farm was chosen for one of the matches for potential love ever after. "Love Without Borders follows five Americans – Aaron Motacek, Danna Richards, Philip Michael Thomas Jr., Naeem Thompson and Gurleen Virk – who put it all on the line for love." Brian Dilleen is Danna Richards' perfect match according to the show matchmaker. You can tell she might be his too with the ease of how he takes all his clothes off and hops into bed with, beautiful though she is, a woman who is essentially a stranger in the first episode. Wearing nothing, I may add, but red underwear. Beautiful Ms Richards' was well impressed by how Brian thought of a natural cure for jetlag - lets hop into bed....naked! You will have to watch the show to see if it worked. He was wasting no time as life is busy as a chicken farmer and with no time to loose picking a daisy Brian was immediately getting his eggs in a line. One of many Mad Yolk incidents as the series dénouement unravels and also Brian's clothes. He could have just tried our Sweet Dreams Gift Box its great for trouble sleeping. According to Oranmore's Vendors and Stalls website, Brian sells eggs from his own flock of hens. He also grows vegetables, salads and herbs in Rosshil Road, Roscam. The website also says that "Brian is the Mad Yolk Egg Man, he collects the eggs and dances with the chickens every single day." This new documentary about the life of Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin founder of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, will air on RTÉ One later this Tuesday 20th of Dec on RTE One at 10.15 pm. Make sure you watch it and spread the word. Lucky me was invited to a press screening ahead of the broadcast. This beautifully scenic & artisic documentary of Professor Ó Súilleabháin was directed and produced by multi-award winning filmmaker Maggie Breathnach of Red Shoe Productions. The documentary, entitled 'Between Worlds' The Life of Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin , explores the life and legacy of the pioneering Irish composer and academic. Many of his friends and family speak about the man, his music and most importantly the meaning behind it. All this interested me as 'between worlds' sounds a lot like the meaning of what is called 'bardo' in Tibetan Buddhism. Normally this is understood as the space time from the moment of death to rebirth made famous by Bardo Thodal or The Tibetan Book of The Dead. However there are a number of 'bardos' in persons life. The famed Tibetan Lama Trungpa said the experience of bardo was experiencing 'the pit of hell and the peak of heaven in the same moment'. For some during this experience there comes about a spiritual awakening. Ó Súilleabháin passed in 2018 after a life filled with international developments as a composer. His unique Irish piano style joining classical, jazz and Irish traditional elements was pioneering, along with his creation of the incredible Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick where many students took an MA degree. The documentary was all shot outside capturing for me the soundscape which Professor Ó Súilleabháin and all of us live in by virtue of living and breathing in the Celtic lands. The five elements are all represented earth, water, fire, wood and space thanks to the producer Breathnach insisting all interviews took place outside in nature from where much inspiration comes. Professor Ó Súilleabháin said he liked being in the middle of the crossroads. This was the space that he liked to create from. In the middle, holding opposite forces together. Leaving the screening of the documentary I could not help think to myself this was not a static place where he created and existed from. Shortly after the screening the image and notion of the labyrinth in mysticism came to me. As if the energies he worked with musically were found walking on internal labyrinth psycho-spiritually speaking. So he may have been in the middle of an energetic compass at the focal point but the labyrinth actually rolls out of that and in Professor Ó Súilleabháin's case this is possibly the energetic space where he created from - beyond time and space - a sacred space. You can see possibly what I mean at 23.00 mins into the video below which explores labyrinths. The new documentary about the life of Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin will air on RTÉ One later this Tuesday 20th of Dec on RTE One at 10.15 pm. Make sure you sit the whole family down for a cinematic documentary of food for the soul, ceol agus deas. There is talk that the documentary will go on a national tour of Arts Centres and internationally for screenings. You may also get a chance to see young Irish musicians perform before the screening and hear the voices and music of his sons and perhaps if you are lucky a poem or two.
